What to Watch, 7-8-12
T: Some good, some meh tonight.
Falling Skies and The Newsroom are new on both TNT and HBO, respectively. I still haven’t seen one ep of Falling Skies this season, but will…they’re all on the DVR. I couldn’t stand The Newsroom—but M loves it. And I cancelled HBO. For now. So that’s where I stand on these. 6p satellite, 7p satellite; 9p cable, 10p cable.
At least the new HBO, Showtime, comes through for us. Weeds is up first. It’s probably the most absurd show on all of television and it’s been through so many identities it’s ridiculous. But it’s still fun. Mary Louise Parker is still great. Justin Kirk is still hilarious. The boys are holding their own. Episodes brings up the rear. Just a fun, fun, fun series. Matt LeBlanc has never been better. It’s so smartly written…LeBlanc playing…LeBlanc. I think that’s my favorite thing about this show—just how smart (and SPOT ON) it is. Check it out. 7p-8p satellite, 10p-11p cable.
